The Turkish Folk Music Group has been around for quite some time now. Originally an informal group performing occasionally at TAA-KC social functions, it has since 2002 taken a more rigorous turn, rehearsing regularly and performing at non-TAA-KC functions as well.

The Group performed regularly at the Kansas City Ethnic Enrichment Festival 2002 through 2005. Just to list a few other performances, it participated in two separate events in Minneapolis in 2004, and presented Turkish music to Saint Louis audiences in 2004 and 2005.

The Group is composed of Tom Aber, Clarinet; Marty Temchin, Violin; Henry Temchin, Accordion; Emru Erten, Davul; and Serdar Tunçten, Darbuka. Also, İlker Eser, Violin, Alper Türkkan, Guitar, and Cihan Kocadere, Bağlama, have participated on occasion in 2006.
